Asharqia Chamber, represented by the Contracting Committee, will hold a meeting of businessmen and businesswomen in the Eastern Region on Thursday (13 September 2018) with the Chairman of the Saudi Contractors Authority, Osama bin Hassan al-Afaliq, at the headquarter of the Chamber in Dammam.
A member of the Board of Directors of the Chamber and Chairman of the Contracting Committee, Hamad bin Hamoud Al-Hammad, said that the meeting will discuss many topics related to the construction sector including the developments that is witnessed by the sector.
Al-Hammad said that the meeting, which falls within the activities of the Committee for the current year 2018, will address a number of topics such as the challenges facing the construction sector, the vision of the Kingdom 2030 and the role of the contracting sector, and the strategic plan of the Authority.
Al-Hammad added that this meeting came to confirm that the image of the future in the short and long term looks bright, as it involve hundreds of projects, which requires the workers in the sector to prepare for them and to enter into the process, and search for the new required to be implemented according to the latest means and the highest specifications and fastest times.
In addition, he pointed out that the challenges faced by workers in the sector are numerous because the circumstances are different. In fact, the sector is largely responsible for the Kingdom's Vision 2030.
The Kingdom is considered as a great workshop that does not stop. The ambitious projects are large and wide across the country. The sector is required to interact with these developments and to offer high-quality tenders that are in line with the ambition affirmed by the new vision.
He explained that the challenges of establishing something, and the challenges of development is another thing, and what the country is witnessing is the mix of the two; "we have large foundation projects, and projects looking forward to development, both of which require a certain level of quality." This is what will be discussed in the meeting with Engineer Osama Al-Afalq.
